The Unexpected Influence Of The Tissot Watches

Tissot was founded in 1853 and is a Swiss watchmaker. The firm was established in the Swiss Jura Mountains by Charles Feliient Tissot and Charles Emile. They found a watchmaking company in Le Locle, which is still today as a Group subsidiary. The firm is the world’s largest watchmaker and wholesaler.

Initially, the company created gold pocket and pendant watches and entered major exhibits and contests. The watches were first developed for export in the United States in 1853. In Russia, beginning in 1858, a branch controlled by Charles-Emile was established.

The factory was erected on Chemin des Tourelles in Le Locle in 1907. During this time, the firm began making revolutionary watches for both men and women. Tissot was already developing its movements in 1917.

Tissot became a component of the Swiss Swatch Group, the world’s largest producer and distributor of timepieces, in 1983. Since then, Tissot has created several timepieces and mechanisms that have molded the modern watch business.

Tissot’s 21st-century men’s watch collections are all at their best, with a more than century-long heritage in watchmaking. Finally, Tissot watches come in various styles and supplies to suit every taste, personality, and budget.

T-Race Automatic Chronograph

Tissot Watches such as the T-Classic line include the Tradition model. It has a stainless steel case with a rose gold PVD finish that is simply gorgeous. . The width is 42 mm, and the depth is 7.47 mm, resulting in a lower profile and an extremely comfortable fit. The movement is a three-jewel Swiss quartz ETA F06.111. The watch is 100 feet water-resistant.

PRC 200 Automatic Chronograph

This model is part of the Sporty series, which also contains other PRC 200 variants. The 200 Automatic timepiece features a classic design. The dial seems to be quite large due to the decreased bezel, allowing for precise time reading.

It can sustain deep water up to 660 feet and has 45-hour battery life. Readability is aided by the use of superluminova for the indices and hands and Arabic and index markings.

The use of superluminova on the numerals, indexes, and hands makes it highly readable. A Swiss-Tissot automatic chronograph movement powers this timepiece. The case is 44 meters thick and 16.28 mm thick, and it’s crafted of stainless steel.

Heritage 1973 (Limited Edition)

Including its tonneau casing and panda-style chronograph registers, the new Heritage 1973 Chronograph was inspired by the Tissot Navigator watch of the 1970s. It utilizes a box-cut glass crystal with a dramatic dome instead of a plexiglass crystal, yet any watch made in 2019 must meet the performance standards of modern watchmaking.

It’s no longer possible to use acrylic. Furthermore, the crystal on this watch is so well-made that when you press it flat against the dial and look at it from the side, the curvature compromises the chronograph movement scale in the same manner as all the old Plexi crystals on Chrono clocks from the 1970s did.

Chemin Des Tourelles Powermatic 80

The Tissot Chemin des Tourelles is named after the street in Le Locle, Switzerland, where the Tissot manufacture first opened its doors in 1907. The stainless steel casing has a simple yet pleasing design and a surprising level of attention to detail.

The lugs feature a polished bevel on the outside edge and a notch where they join the case, which adds elegance. Both the shell and the bezel have to contrast brushed and polished surfaces, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal.

T-Race SwissMatic
